Dentures

Dentures are removable appliances used to replace missing teeth and the tissues surrounding them. A Complete Denture will replace all of the teeth, while a Partial Denture replaces just those teeth that are missing or need to be replaced due to severe decay. Partial dentures keep existing teeth from shifting and are designed to blend in naturally with the surrounding teeth. Recent advances in denture technology have improved the durability, stability and appearance of dentures.

A general dentist can fit you for dentures. Since dentures are a major procedure, some patients prefer to see a prosthodontist. Prosthodontists are dentists who specialize in replacing missing teeth and restoring natural teeth. Prosthodontists have completed dental school, and have received additional training in a specialty program as well. Some prosthodontist offices now offer onsite laboratories and can create dentures in a fraction of the time as has been typical.
